Bettinardi is adding fuel to the zero-torque craze.

Lately, all the rage has been over zero-torque meters, and Bettinardi is adding fuel to the fire with its latest releases, the Antidote SB1 and Antidote SB2.

For those unfamiliar, zero-torque putters have taken the golf world by storm thanks to a design that places the center of gravity (CG) in the center of the propeller head and directly below the axle shaft. This creates a putter that is twist-averse and naturally tends to stay on track throughout the stroke without player manipulation.

Because of this, zero-torque putters will naturally balance with the toe up, as opposed to balancing the toe down or face.

While this isn’t the first time Bettinardi has ventured into the zero-torque space, with the Antidote line their team has created two models, Antidote blade SB1 AND SB2 hammer antidote hammer shooter.

“The new Antidote putter series is the result of two years of dedicated work, including countless prototypes to perfect every detail,” Bettinardi president Sam Bettinardi said in a release. “With our Simply Balanced technology, golfers can maintain square-to-square balance throughout the swing, increasing consistency and confidence. Each putter embodies the look and feel of Bettinardi Golf, ensuring players experience not only the performance, but also the pure craftsmanship we are known for.”

Both pawls, and their counterbalanced versions, feature Bettinardi’s FIT (Impact Sensing Technology) face milling, which is designed for a softer feel at impact while maintaining responsiveness. A diamond blast finish helps reduce glare at address while the SB2 body and SB1 insert are finished in a sapphire blue finish to create visual contrast.

As is typical of zero-torque putters, the shaft enters the head with a negative offset, forcing the player to initiate the stroke with a forward press, avoiding any face opening that occurs when players do it just before impact.

Both the SB1 and SB2 are available for pre-order in standard and counterbalanced configurations now Bettinardi.com AND Fairway Jockey for $430. The new paws are scheduled to be officially released on January 24, 2025.
