Openers: Prabhsimran Singh, Josh Inglis
Punjab Kings Playing 11 will have a new opening combination for IPL 2025. While Prabhsimran Singh will continue to open the innings for his side, he is likely to have his new opening partner in Josh Inglis. Prabhsimran Singh was one of the two retained players from PBKS and he will look to justify the franchise’s call-up.
In the previous season, he scored 334 goals in 14 games for the team. Inglis is preparing to make his debut in the IPL next season. The right-handed batsman has already shown his mettle in international cricket as well.
He has two T20I centuries, including one against India, and recently led Australia to a 3-0 win over Pakistan. Inglis will be looking to hit the ground running in his debut IPL season.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Nehal Wadhera, Shreyas Iyer, Shashank Singh, Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell
Nehal Wadhera is likely to play in the 11 for PBKS next season. The highly rated batsman has played for Mumbai Indians in the last two IPL seasons. He impressed everyone with his batting and will look to do well for PBKS as well. Last season, Wadhera played 6 games and scored 109 goals.
Iyer will bat at No.4 for Punjab Kings. The right-handed batsman is one of the best white-ball players in the country and it will be up to him to lead the attack with the bat for the team. Last season, Iyer scored 351 runs in 14 innings for Kolkata Knight Riders while leading the team.
Shashank Singh will be another name in the middle order of PBKS. The right-handed batsman had a stunning campaign for PBKS last season and was one of two players retained. In 14 games, he scored 354 runs at a strike rate of over 164.
Australian pair Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell are likely to be the designated all-rounders in the Punjab Kings Playing XI. Stoinis played in Lucknow last year while Maxwell played in Bengaluru. Stoinis notched up two fifties last season along with scoring 388 runs and 4 wickets with the help of a century.
Maxwell, on the other hand, has scored just 52 runs in 10 games and will be desperate for a comeback. The Australian star took six wickets with the ball.

Punjab Kings could have two specialist pacers and as many spinners in their squad. Arshdeep Singh will lead the pace attack and Marco Jansen is likely to be his bowling partner. Stoinis is another fast bowling option for the side.
On the other hand, Yuzvendra Chahal will lead the spin department with Harpreet Brar as his partner. Punjab Kings will also have an opportunity to use Maxwell’s spin bowling.
