Bernie Davis urges a boots to fight Bakhram Murtazaliev

Coach Bernie Davis says he wants to see Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis going to “The Boogeyman” of the 154-pound division, the IBF champion Bakhram Murtazaliev, next to himself.

Davis mentions that, with the way Ennis’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, is busy for Terence Crawford, he wants him to take a real risk by fighting Murtazaliev (23-0, 17 COs) next. He does not consider WBA champion Abass Baraou as ‘boots’ fights.

Strike while victory is fresh

Hearn briefly mentioned Murtazaliev’s name last Saturday after Ennis’s first round victory over Uussma Lima in Philadelphia. The fighter he talked about most was the WBC junior middleweight champion, Vergil Ortiz Jr., which he considered the first step towards a fight against Crawford. I disagree. Ennis is now ready for Crawford.

To Vergil jr. And beating baking hram is not necessary for ‘boots’ to call out Crawford and fight now before getting much older. He is all the excuse for him who works for him when he loses by saying he is 38.

If Ennis waits for another year or two, Crawford will hit 40; He is not going to get much of beating him in terms of legacy. The time is now. Crawford just beat Canelo Alvarez, and although victory is still fresh, “boots” have to fight against him before weakening. You have seen worn Crawford look after the fight. He looked everything from 38 and then a few, and he also fought like one. It’s just that Canelo was worse.

To beat baking hram means something

“If Bakhram is the Boogeyman, and this man (Ennis) is a hybrid of Roy Jones Jr. and Terence Crawford, there is no reason why he should not fight against this man,” said coach Bernie Davis. Millcity Boxing About the will of Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis to challenge the IBF 154-Pond Champion Bakhram Murtazaliev next.

Bakhram, 32, has not fought since last year when he stopped Tim Tszyu in the third round on October 19, 2024. Who knows how that year out of the ring affected him? He also never beat anyone before the fight, and he struggled against Jack Culcay. As we saw on July 19 in Tszyu’s recent seventh round against Sebastian Fundora, he is not as good as fans thought he was. Fundora is not a big puncher, but he beat Tszyu.

“I am looking for him to make a statement against Bakhram. Since the child does not fight,” Davis said. ‘If he (Ennis) fights against the WBA champion (Abass Baraou), we can just cancel it as well. I don’t want to hear about ‘boots’. If he does not fight Bakhram, Vergil Ortiz or Xander Zayas.

Baraou (17-1, 9 costs) as a better fighter than WBO champion Xander Zayas. The way he performed in his recent unanimous 12-round decision over the 154-pound Yoenis Tellez WBA Tus-Tus-Tus-Tuesday is more difficult than Zayas. If the shoe was on the other foot, Xander would not be able to do it to Cuban Tellez.

Davis: Boots for Vergil is 50–50

“I prefer him over Xander. I think he and Vergil Ortiz is a battle of 50-50 because Vergil will not be upset by the combinations,” Davis said.
