Berlanga target plant over Milli

Edgar Berlanga says he wants to fight Caleb Plant, and prefers him over the unbeaten WBC -Tussentage Super Middleweight Champion Christian Mbilli if he were to overcome against Hamzah Sheeraz on Saturday night.

Berlanga’s plant preference

The choice of the off-and-out plant, 32, above the unbeaten Mbilli, would be the ultimate example of a cherry choice by Berlanga, showing what he is about with his career. He has taken flames in the past by choosing not to fight the former WBA ‘ordinary’ super -mid -weight champion David Morrell, when he was the obligation for his title in 2024.

Caleb Plant’s recent struggle

Plant (23-3, 14 COs) looked old and weak, losing a 12-round decision to his opponent Jose Armando Resendiz in May. The battle and the one previously for the planting of sweathand showed that he was just a shell from the fighter he was in 2021 when Canelo Alvarez knocked him out.

This Saturday, July 12, Berlanga (23-1, 18 costs) Sheeraz fights in a 12-round WBC 168-LB elimination at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. The event will be shown Live on dazn PPV for $ 59.99.

“I’ll fight Caleb plant,” Berlanga said The ring When asked if he wanted to fight Christian Mbilli, Jermall Charlo or Plant.

Turki’s battle decision

The question is: Will Turki be interested in paying Berlanga for a fight against planting? Honestly, I don’t know why he would do it, because it is not one for which fans can stand up, because plant two of his last four battles have lost. David Banavidez beat the living daylights from Caleb in 2023. Plant loses the fight against his set opponent, Resendiz, on May 31, showed that he had nothing left, and that he was really never so good.

“I want to finish the battle with a bang, fight in November or December,” Berlanga told Ring Magazine channel When asked about his plans to Hamzah Sheeraz.

Berlanga’s Canelo Rematch Hope

Edgar’s most important target is a rematch with Canelo Alvarez for a second shot to pick up ‘that suitcase’, but the option won’t be there, no matter how good he looks to defeat the unbeaten Sheeraz (21-0-1, 17 COs). Turki Alalshikh wants Sheeraz or the Chris Eubank Jr. Against Conor Benn Rematch winner for the Canelo collision next February.
