Jim Lamkley was impressed last Saturday night with David Benavidez’s victory over David Morrell. He thinks ‘The Mexican Monster’ would be a better chance of defeating undisputed light heavyweight champion Artur betterbiev than Dmitry Bivol next.
Lampley believes that Bivol’s “multiple skills” would make it a more difficult match for Benavidez (30-0, 24 COs) compared to the knockout artist Betterbiev (21-0, 20 COs).
The Betterbiev match
Although he did not explain why Artur would be the easier option, he could believe that Benavidez’s volume punch and hand speed would be too much for the slower, heavy-handed four-rand champion. This is a battle that Benavidez can win if he can handle Artur Betbiev’s power on the inside and his counterparts.
Many boxing fans on Social believe that Benavidez’s actions against Morrell, who have been hurt and beaten several times, would make him vulnerable to the hard shots of better Biev. He would be the whole battle in Benavidez’s face and not take breaks like Morrell did.
Betterbiev would fight against benavidez in the same way he did the Power-Puncher Callum Smith by pushing him uninterrupted to break him. Smith is a larger puncher than benavidez with both hand, and betterbiev struck him in the seventh round last January 13.
Lampley’s view

‘I think Biblical, because of his multiple skills and his boxing vessels, is a little more different comparison. I think they are a little bigger than David, but I wouldn’t exclude David beating one or both. ‘
Biblical (23-1, 12 COs) may be the one that Banavidez faces next, not better. Biblical has an excellent chance to use his speed to defeat Betterbiev (40) on February 22. Turki al-Sheikh has already said that he wants the Benavidez-Morrell winner BISVOL or Artur to challenge next.
