David Banavidez reminded the media today of how he injured Dmitri Biblical during their last sparring session. He says he haunted the light heavyweight champion “a lot” and hurt him.
Benavidez reminds biblical of sparring pain
Benavidez (30-0, 24 food) mentions that he sees no difference between sparring and fighting. He says if he can hit someone in the sparring, he can do it in a fight. BISVOL (24-1, 12 COs) is the one that targets benavidez for his three belts so that he can become the undisputed light heavyweight champion.
“It’s the same thing. If you can touch someone, you can touch someone in a fight, ‘David Banavidez said Ring champsWith the success of the success he had with Dmitri Bisvol. “I haunted him a lot. I hurt him the last time we haunted. I was 22 years old.
“I hurt him”: the 2019 sessions re -visit
The sparring took place around 2019, when Benavidez Anthony Dirrell and J’Leon Love wiped out and looked unstoppable. With the way he fought at the time, it is understandable why Bivolution had problems with him. He does not handle the pressure well, as we saw in his two battles with Artur Betterbiev. It must have been a nightmare for him to handle that Benavidez attacked him uninterrupted during the sparring sessions.
“He had a lot more experience than me, but I had the experience I had. Now I am smarter and I became a better fighter,” Banavidez said.
That sparring session is perhaps one of the reasons why Biblical was reluctant to fight benavidez. I mean, he evacuated his WBC title when ‘The Mexican Monster’ Benavidez was his compulsory. The official reason was that he had the trilogy match with Artur Betterbiev that he was going to take.
Fear of the Mexican monster?
That fight never happened, so it makes sense to conclude that Biblical is not interested in fighting benavidez and dealing with the combination punch he is known for.
Benavidez still hopes that a battle with Biblical will occur at some point, but it is doubtful whether it will do. Biblical does not get younger. He turns 35 on December 18, 2025, and he comes from a back surgery.
Dan Ambrose has written on boxing since 2011 and he cut hype with stumps on the side of the ring.
