Benavidez faces Yarde in the face after the grueling Morrell war

David Banavidez says he wants a war in his defense of his WBC Light Heavyweight title against the #4-selected Anthony Yarde on November 22 at their main liner in the Anb Arena in Riyadh. The event is shown on Dazn PPV.

Come off the cruel morrell battle

Benavidez (30, 24 costs) faces another big puncher after his recent grueling 12-round battle against David Morrell on March 1, 2025. ‘The Mexican Monster’ Benavidez was in fourth place and beat in the 11th.

Banavidez came through it with a unanimous 12 -round decision, but his face looked like someone who came from a battlefield. The Cuban Morrell really put him through a grinder with a few bombs with which he hit him.

Come back to adopt Yarde (37-3, 24 COs) will not be easy. I would not be surprised if Benavidez was dropped once or twice by Yarde if he preferred to go from toes to toe early as he did with Morrell.

Yarde’s history against elite fighters

“I definitely expect a big action fight. Anthony Yarde is a fighter who was there with two of the best Russian fighters, Sergey Kovalev and Artur Betterbiev,” David Banavidez said Ring magazine on his title defense against Anthony Yarde on November 22.

Betterbiev and Kovalev knocked out Yarde in those battles. It is impossible to know if Yarde has improved since the fighting because he did not strike anyone in his last four battles.

A dubious road to a title shot

Yarde rebuilt for two years, although at mostly lower level opposition. He gets a shot anyway, whether he deserves it or not. Turki Alalshikh announced the Benavidez-Yery battle, so it makes sense that he wanted this battle.

Yarde’s recent battles

  • Lyndon Arthur
  • Ralph vilcans
  • Marko Nikolic
  • Jorge Silva: 23-17 Record.

The choice of Yarde will engage the British fans familiar with him and will be joining to see if he can pull out a dismay against Benavidez.

Benavidez demands a whole war

“I accept, and invite war. So if that’s what the people in Riyadh and Saudi Arabia want, let’s give it to them, ”says Benavidez.

‘The Mexican Monster’ Benavidez is going to have no choice but to wage war with Yarde, because that is the only way he is fighting. The London-born yard is a brawler, and I don’t expect him to change his style for this battle if even possible.

Can the endurance of Yarde keep up?

Yarde, 34, is going to be dangerous by at least seven rounds, because it is usually around that point that he starts to take out because of the bodybuilder’s body. He injured former undisputed light heavyweight champion Artur Betterur Betterbiev on a few times in their fight on January 28, 2023.

He repeatedly caught up with capital letters and brackets on the head in the first half of the fight. After better bieving Yarde figured out, he dropped him off in round seven with short combinations and finished in the eighth to achieve a technical knockout.
