The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India A squad for the upcoming Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024. Tilak Varma appointed captain. The tournament will be held in Oman from October 18 to 27 and will be played in the T20 format for the first time.

The 15-man squad has a mix of promising young talent and experienced players, reflecting India’s commitment to nurturing future stars. Tilak Varma has already left his mark Indian Premier League (IPL) and the senior national team will lead the side. His leadership is expected to guide the team in this competitive tournament.
The squad also has several players who have made significant contributions in domestic cricket and the IPL. Notably, four players from Punjab are the champions of the recently held Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Abhishek Sharma, Ramandeep Singh, Prabh Simran Singh and Nehal Wadhera. Their inclusion reflects BCCI’s strategy of investing in proven players at various levels.

In addition to these players, Haryana’s left-arm spin all-rounder Nishant Sindhu and Delhi’s promising batsmen Ayush Badoni and Anuj Rawat add depth to the batting line-up.
The bowling department has a mix of pace and spin options. Medium-order pace bowlers Anshul Kamboj, Vaibhav Arora, Aqib Khan and Rasikh Salam will lead the pace attack. The spin department includes off-spinner Hrithik Shokeen, left-arm spinner Sai Kishore and leg-spinner Rahul Chahar, who provide an all-round bowling unit that can adapt to various conditions.
Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024: Group Composition
India A has been placed in Group B along with Pakistan A, UAE and Oman. Meanwhile, Group A consists of Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A, Afghanistan A and Hong Kong. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, and the final is scheduled for October 27.
