BCCI announces IPL 2026 second leg schedule

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially announced the long-awaited schedule of the second phase Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026sets the stage for an intense and decisive stretch of the tournament. With 50 league games still to be played, the league stage resumes on April 13 and runs until May 24, 2026, promising an exciting battle for the play-off places.

The second stage continues with a blockbuster clash

The second stage will start with an interesting match Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals in Hyderabad. The matches were spread over 12 cities

BCCI has scheduled matches at 12 venues across India to ensure wide fan participation. The cities hosting the remaining league matches include Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Dharamshala, Raipur and New Chandigarh. Home advantage and space adjustments

Few franchises will benefit from playing multiple games at designated home venues. Punjab Kings will split their home fixtures between New Chandigarh and Dharamshala, including three matches at the scenic hilltop venue. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals are set to play four matches in Jaipur, giving them a solid home advantage. Royal Challengers Bengaluru will play three matches at their home ground in Bengaluru along with two matches scheduled in Raipur. This distribution of ground can be decisive in determining results, as teams often rely on familiar conditions to gain an advantage.

While the league schedule has been confirmed, the BCCI has said that the venues for the playoffs will be announced later. The decision keeps fans and teams guessing and raises expectations for the playoffs.
