BCC prefers India to Pakistan? A global body makes something big happen

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 saw the International Cricket Council sandwiched between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The two countries have been at loggerheads for some time, but so far there has been no resolution.

The schedule of ICC Champions Trophy 2025, along with the venue and format, is yet to be announced even though the tournament is just around the corner. However, amid all the uncertainty, the global cricket body sent the trophy to Pakistan for the official trophy tour.

The silverware of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 arrived in Islamabad on Thursday

The silverware of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 arrived in Islamabad on Thursday (November 14) and will be taken across the country next week. According to reports in Cricbuzz, it has been learned that the cup tour will take place from November 16 to 24.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will have breaks in Murree, Hunza, Muzaffarabad and Skardu. In addition, the title will also be taken to K2, the second highest mountain in the world after Everest. Mountain climbing is very risky and has a high fatality rate. But it is considered safer to take off from the Pakistani side.

The trophy will not be taken to Lahore, Karachi and Pindi

The trophy will not be taken to Lahore, Karachi and Pindi where the tournament will be held. The reason for this is the fog and besides, it is learned that the Pakistan Cricket Board and the government of Pakistan are trying to develop tourism in the country and take it to new places.

On the tournament front, there has been no clarity regarding the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has refused to tour Pakistan after not getting permission from the government. On the other hand, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is also aggressive in its stance and is ready to host the entire tournament in their country.

Mr Nawaz Sharif should approach Mr Modi directly – the former PCB chairman – to open a new chapter in relations

There have also been talks about a hybrid model, but Pakistan is ignoring it. Reports on Cricbuzz claimed that the International Cricket Council (ICC) will announce the schedule for the tournament and the ball is in the court of the ICC trying to reach out to interested parties.

The former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board also spoke about the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 situation. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should contact Mr. Modi directly. Speaking to local news, he explained:

“Mr Nawaz Sharif should reach out directly to Mr Modi to open a new chapter in the relationship, while also starting back-channel talks with India to break the deadlock.”

The PCB on Sunday confirmed that it had received an email from the ICC regarding India’s decision. The global Cricket body was asked the reasons behind BCCI’s call and the Indian body was also asked the same.
