Bayern Munich ‘in talks’ with Leroy Sané despite Man United links

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed the Bundesliga giants are “in talks” with Leroy Sane over a new contract despite the winger being linked with Man United this week.

The The German star’s current deal expires at the end of the season leaving his future in doubtbut it has become clear that Bayern want to keep hold of the 28-year-old even though he has fallen down the German side’s pecking order since the arrival of Vincent Kompany.

Sane’s minutes at the Allianz Arena have been reduced since the arrival of both the Belgian manager and Michael Olise, who has made a very impressive start to life in Bavaria.

The former Man City star has only played in two of the Bundesliga giants’ first six league games and if that doesn’t change over the course of the season, it could have an impact on talks over a new contract.

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed that such talks are taking place, stating via Fabrizio Romano: “We are in talks with their agents.

“We will announce a decision when there is something to announce. Now, the most important thing is to focus on the pitch.”
