The San Francisco Giants already have MLB Hall of Fame relatives on their roster with Mike Yastrzemski, who is the grandson of MLB legend Carl Yastrzemski and has been the team’s mainstay since 2019.
He now has a company and is no longer the legend’s only child after his team recently acquired a free agent.
Alex Pavlovich of NBC Sports shared that the Giants are signing infielder Kavan Biggio and assigning him to Triple-A after he was released by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Cavan is the son of Houston Astros legend Craig Bijou and was cut by the Toronto Blue Jays earlier this year after years of frustration as a founding member of two other sons of MLB legends, Bo Bichette and Vladi Guerrero Jr.
Biggio was released by the Dodgers just 30 games after they traded for him after posting just three home runs and ten RBIs for a .192 average while filling in for the injured Max Muncie and Mookie Betts.
He will now get a fresh start with the Dodgers’ biggest rival at age 29 and will look to return to the major league roster in an attempt to recapture the magic he had early in his career.
The Giants currently sit at .500 and are on the outside looking in when it comes to the wild card standings, largely due to subpar performances from some key infielders in Tyro Estrada and Wilmer Flores this year.
MLB rosters are expanding soon, so we’ll see if Biggio can return to the bigs and make some noise.
