Bangladesh National Cricket Team Assistant Coach Nic Pothas revealed that his side’s players failed to hit sixes in the ongoing T20I series. Indian National Cricket Team. He said that they do not have strong players, but they are working in this direction.
The Bangladesh National Cricket Team will face the Indian National Cricket Team in the final match of the three-match series. The final match of the series between the teams will be played on Saturday (October 12) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
The series has now been won by the Indian team after two stunning performances in two matches in Guwahati and Delhi. One of the reasons for the series loss for the Bangladesh National Cricket Team is the batting which has struggled to make it to both games.
Bangladesh have hit only 8 sixes in the series so far
The Bangladeshi batsmen looked completely clueless and failed to score runs. One of the main reasons for India’s lead in the series is their number of sixes. They hit 22 sixes in the two games, while the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side managed just 8 sixes, which speaks volumes about their poor effort.
The Bangladeshi batsmen also pointed out that they are not used to batting on tracks where scores hover around 180-190. They said that they are used to playing on tracks that score 140-150 runs and said that they want to get such pitches at home.
We are working on our strength and conditioning but you can’t fight genetics – Bangladesh assistant coach Nic Pothas
Talking about the six-hitting ability of the players, Nic Pothas pointed out that India have stronger players but they are working on their strength and conditioning. He admitted that while time and technique are important, he cannot fight genetics. Giving a statement to journalists, he explained them as follows:
“They have stronger players. We work on our strength and conditioning, but you can’t fight genetics. If one player weighs 95-100 kg and the other 65 kg, naturally the heavier player will hit the ball further. Of course, time and technique are important and we are constantly working on these aspects.”
Comparing India’s sixes with ours is like comparing how many sixes the West Indies hit with us – Nic Pothas
Nic Pothas pointed out how Indian players are ready to fight their way onto the international stage because of the Indian Premier League. He said that comparing the six abilities of Indian players with them is like comparing them with the West Indies. He added:
“You should also watch the IPL. It is the best competition in the world with top quality players. The IPL prepares players for the international stage. Comparing India’s sixes with ours is like comparing how many sixes the West Indies hit compared to us”
Led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, they have a very young team of players who are still trying to find their feet in international cricket. They wanted to win the last match and end the series on a high.
