Martin Bakole weighed a sturdy, unofficial 315 pound on a scale with his clothes in front of his main support fight against 267-pound Joseph Parker on Saturday night, February 22, in Riyadh. Bakole (21-1, 16 COs) would probably be a little lighter if he weighed in without his street clothes.
Bakole will weigh a huge 30.5 pound more than the 284.5 pounds he weighed in Los Angeles for his previous battle against Jared Anderson on August 3. He apparently ate well, but surprisingly, he did not notice whether he would be offered a fight as a substitute opponent in the meantime.
Bakole’s bulk
Some fans believe that he believes that if he does not come to Parker in the first three or four rounds, he will be removed and stopped or eliminated. Parker will apparently keep going for the first six rounds, and not let Bakole have a stationary target to land his large shots. Parker did this effectively in his last two fights against Zhilei Zhang and Deontay Wilder.
However, he weighed in the mid -240s for those fights, and he was getting heavier in 22 pounds on Saturday. It is not nearly as easy for Parker to move for 12 rounds, as it was on a lighter weight that goes up a wilder of the hill and a 291 pound of Zhang.
Parker weighed at a career height, and it’s not good. It is unclear what he thought by roaring so much for a fight against his initially scheduled opponent, IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois. He would have had dubois with 20 pounds heavier, and it would have been almost impossible not to get caught by him
Bakole will allegedly get a $ 600,000 payday for this battle, which is a lot of money for a replacement opponent. Some people believe he gets more than that, but it’s the number that Mailsport reports.
