If Terence Crawford is the ‘face of boxing’ as he declares himself, why would he not allow young Lions to get a fight against him? He is selfish and withheld by avoiding a right of passage for the transition from the torch to young ‘boots’ and ‘the Mexican monster’ benavidez.
A king’s selfish government
It does not work for the sport as Crawford will protect its brand by bypassing Ennis and David Benavidez. These two are one win away from massive stars. They just need Crawford to keep the spotlight like a misery, and don’t want to let Ennis and Benavidez get their chance.
Bud’s coach, Brian ‘Bomac’ McIntyre, showed no interest when asked if Crawford would fight next to Ennis or Benavidez after his victory over Canelo Alvarez. If Crawford’s skills are so great, why don’t he or her fans want him to fight benavidez and ‘boots’?
Refuse to pass the torch
Crawford (42-0, 31 costs) guarding his legacy and image by not giving Ennis (34-0, 30 COs) the chance to climb to the next star as others did for him. Older or worn fighters agreed to fight Crawford so that he could climb to stars.

Crawford used these fighters to become a star. How would he want it if they prefer to set up their noses to fight the highly mobile, to hit Southpaw when he asked them for a fight?
Lessons of Oscar of the hoya
Floyd Mayweather jr. Use Oscar de la Hoya to become a mega star of the sport. Manny Pacquiao also used De la Hoya to also become a PPV attraction. De la Hoya was willing to do this for the sport. Why can’t Crawford be like Oscar?
Blocking box’s natural cycle
Crawford blocks the natural life cycle of the box, of the torch that is passed. Is it too much to ask that Crawford be used as a ‘boots’ springboard to become the next star? He must have the young lion eat instead of fetching the meat for himself.
I think Crawford is a grinch by not preventing the evolution of the sport by fighting against Ennis and/or Benavidez. It would be a class movement if Crawford was fighting both before retiring rather than moving to 160 to fight the belt containers in that section.
Will Crawford run off the young lions?
If Crawford is worried about “boots” that tear him apart and make him look like an old man, he should not be afraid. With the way he moves around the ring, he will make it difficult for Ennis to land any of his penalty throws. The same goes for benavidez. Is Crawford afraid to be wiped out by ‘the Mexican Monster’?
Obviously, it will look bad if Crawford runs off Ennis like against Canelo, but what are you going to do? If a fighter is afraid to get involved, that’s what you’re going to get.
