Scott Boland’s first ball spell removes Yashasvi Jaiswal
Boland, known for his impeccable accuracy, bowled a short length delivery that curled away from mid-on to the fourth stump line. Jaiswal, trying to defend, delivered the ball to the goalkeeper Alex Carey. It was a significant improvement for Australia as they strengthened their control of the match.
Boland celebrated enthusiastically, punching the air in front of Jaiswal before running to Carey to celebrate. His near-wicket dismissal in the first innings (dismissed for a no-ball) demonstrated Boland’s ability to make the most of the conditions. Jaiswal, who hit four boundaries off 31 balls for just 24 runs, failed to deliver in both innings of the game after a stellar performance in the previous Test.

Despite his brilliant century in the first Test in Perth, Jaiswal had a forgettable outing in Adelaide, even in India’s first innings, when he was dismissed by the Australian speedster for a golden duck. Mitchell Starc. Starc’s 140.4km/h death delivery fell on leg stump, wobbled late and trapped Jaiswal lbw as he missed a flick attempt. Falling to Starc’s first ball in the first innings and Boland’s first ball in the second innings provided a disappointing contrast to his earlier form.
