Augusta National’s latest addition may be the best Masters benefit yet

Masters Chairman Fred Ridley had a clear objective for Augusta National’s newest player benefit.

“This upgrade will offer competitors at the Masters facility from arrival to departure unlike anything else in the sport,” Ridley said last April.

This “improvement” is the new Player Services Building, which Augusta National released the photos Friday. It is a three-story building located immediately behind the practice range’s hitting area.

The Player Services Building is open to players, families, teams, coaches and their support team members. Players enter through an underground players’ garage and walk through a corridor featuring Alister MacKenzie’s cross-sectional architecture for each hole at Augusta National.

After entering the magnificent Player Services Building, players can relax in the lounge, which holds all four of Bobby Jones’ 1930 Grand Slam trophies when he won the British Amateur, British Open, US Open and US Amateur. The trophies are on loan from the Atlantic Athletic Club, according to AP’s Doug Fergusonand will return the week after the Masters.

The locker room has 100 lockers. Each locker comes with a safe, a phone charging rack and a gold-plated Masters emblem on the handle. The cabinets are already assigned, but they are not in alphabetical order. Every amateur who makes it to the 2026 Masters is next to a Masters champion.

There is a sitting area in the middle of the dressing room with two tables. According to Ferguson, one of the tables was made from a magnolia tree that fell on Magnolia Lane during Hurricane Helene in 2024.

Downstairs there is a state of the art gym and recovery area with weights, cables, cardio equipment, free weights, medicine balls and more. The recovery room has three cold plunges, a hot tub, a sauna and an area with 16 tables for physiotherapists to work on. The hallway leading out of the area has 1,400 nameplates, one for every player who has ever competed in the Masters.

The finishing touch to Augusta National’s shiny new building is the Magnolia Dining Room at the top. It seats 150 people and has a terrace overlooking the practice area.

Ridley and Masters are always trying to elevate luxury, comfort and ways to spoil the best players in the world.

Their newest addition exceeds the high standard they maintain at Augusta National.
