Our expert staff is constantly trying and testing new golf products. Sometimes, we find something we’re really drawn to, but it doesn’t always fit well into an article, review, or buyer’s guide. Staff elections it’s an easy way for our staff to share the products they love each month. From shoes to coolers and everything in between, these items, for one reason or another, caught the eye of our staff this month.
Adam Beach: PING iCrossover
“It’s the best iron I’ve ever hit and it’s not even close. Whether you need something off or off the fairway, this club is as close to cheating as it gets. It’s so good.”
Connor Lindeman: PUMA ELECTROCAT Nitro
“From the first moment I entered this couple, I knew something was different. This is not your typical PUMA golf shoe. The ELECTROCAT Nitro is definitely the most comfortable PUMA golf shoe I have ever worn. The crazy part? It might be the most comfortable shoe I’ve worn all year. Period. PUMA has worked some voodoo on this, and I’m here for it. “
Chris Nickel: Titleist GT3 Driver
“This is the driver your current driver needs to worry about. It’s the complete package – looks, sound, feel and plenty of horsepower. If the TS project were to return to Titleist competition, the GT could give them the pole position.”
Phillip Bishop: Srixon ZX5 MKII
“Consistency is the name of the game, especially in golf. One of the ways to become more consistent in golf is to play equipment that works and has a reputation for working well. The Srixon ZX5 Mk II cuffs are the epitome of this. For two years running, they are the player’s best distance iron in a very competitive iron space. I literally put them in the bag, off the shelf, a few days after our test results came in and shot a 72.
Dave Wolfe: Toulon Blackout Alcatraz H1
“With an ideal combination of feel and stability, the Toulon Blackout Alcatraz H1 epitomizes the hammer that plays like a blade. Whitening out all that stupid Versa striped stuff was an aesthetic master stroke.”
Bennett Green: adidas MC80
“I didn’t think a shoe would be the last piece of the puzzle to make sense of my photos. The stability of the MC80 literally changed the game. “Going 36 holes used to feel like corporal punishment – but I’ve left the cart more this year than in my entire career combined thanks to these bad boys.”
Sean Fairholm: Yeti Hopper Flip Cooler
“Small enough to use as a lunch box, but big enough to hold 12 ice cans. Stores ice at an amazing speed for its small size. You can use it for any occasion. It’s pricey, but it’s a cooler that will last a really long time.”
John Barba: TPT Nitro 16 HI Driver Shaft
“It turned my PING G430 MAX 10K into a fairway finder. Excellent distance and improved fairway shots over the last four rounds.”
