Aston Villa are keen to sign Castello Lukeba from RB Leipzig.
According to a report by Football Insiderare planning a “very ambitious” move for the 21-year-old centre-back who they consider a “top-level player”. The report also claims that Chelsea and Real Madrid are also monitoring the French defender.
Lukeba is highly rated across Europe and has a bright future ahead of him. He could develop into a world-class player with the right guidance and could be a key addition to Aston Villa’s defence. The West Midlands club have looked quite vulnerable defensively this season, conceding nine goals in seven league games so far. They need to tighten up at the back and signing a quality centre-back should be one of their priorities.
Lukeba will certainly help them strengthen the defense. The chance to join a Champions League club will also be quite attractive for the player.
It remains to be seen whether Aston Villa follow up their interest with an official bid to sign the 21-year-old defender in the coming weeks. They need to get their act together and move forward quickly if they want to be Chelsea and Real Madrid in their signing.
Chelsea and Real Madrid want Castello Lukeba
Chelsea also need to bring in defensive reinforcements, and the 21-year-old would be an excellent long-term investment. Meanwhile, Real Madrid are also looking for long-term alternatives to David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger.
It will be interesting to see where the French defender ends up.
He has the quality to play at the biggest clubs in the world and could improve all three teams. However, he is unlikely to be a cheap acquisition and the Germans could demand a premium for him.
