Of all the gear trends we’ve seen in Tour Golf this season, the Woodway Wood High has been the most talked about topic so far.
Poster baby for this trend most likely to be Tommy Fleetwood (along with mini driver) but topics truly Hit the gas pedal when the world No.1 Scottie Scheffler literally bent the knee and surrendered to the benefits of all.
In this week’s fully equipped episode, I had the opportunity to spend an hour with Taylormade’s sports marketing manager and the SCOTTIE club’s personal son, Adrian Rietveld, to go through how 7-Duri Qi35 finally sat in the Scottie bag.

Rietveld goes deep into the mechanics of what it takes to get a club in the Scottie bag, and surprisingly, the biggest challenge he has is that Scottie Kinda strikes everything he wants with whatever club you deliver. It sounds like a benefit, but if you are trying to nail at home a new idea that you know will help you, finding the right moment is a challenge. Hopefully at one point you get an assist from the person that the lifestyle also depends on the success of Scottie: Caddy Ted scott.
“After the Torrey Pines event, the trick among the cades returning to Torrey for the origin was that you couldn’t play this golf course without a high high road tree, you are giving up the shots, and Teddy knew this,” Rietveld said. “Then (Scottie) returned to Torrey, he bypassed the range and came directly to the truck with Teddy for a meeting.” I think I need a 5-tree. “”

Keep in mind that this process began a year ago, where the idea of a 5-dude or 7-dude was suggested to Scheffler after playing a practical round with Sam Burns (Callaway Apex UW 21) and Justin Thomas (Title 915 FD 5-Dru).
