Indian National Cricket team left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh showed his bravery in opening the great Virat Kohli in the ODI series Opener against the Australian National Cricket team.
Arshdeep Singh said that form is only a word for Virat Kohli and his experience will help him make big runs for the Indian National Cricket team in ODI matches in one of his best.
A blessing to be in the same dressing room as him – Arshdeep Singh
Virat Kohli made his return to international cricket in the final first ODI of the three-match series against the Mitchell Marsh-Led side at the Perth Stadium.
A daily dose of cricket!
The veteran fruit was expected to set the scene on fire due to the way he practiced at the nets. But nothing like that happened and he returned to the hut without disturbing his arm.
Kohli had to come early in the middle as Rohit Sharma was out on 4 and a few balls into his innings, the former Royal Paintings Bengaluru (RCB) Pass followed the former Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper.
On the first ball of the 7th over, Mitchell Starc bowled a full-length delivery to Kohli who was pulled into the drive. Indian fruit could only get a thick edge and was favored by Cooper Connolly.
The crowd at the Perth Stadium were absolutely enthralled to see the modern day batting go into the hut in a big way after an eight-ball duck.
After India’s defeat in the match, Arshdeep Singh attended a press conference where he was asked about Kohli. He responded by saying that Kohli had played over 300 Odis and shared the dressing room with him.
“He (Virat Kohli) has played more than 300 ODIs for India so it’s a word for him, he knows how to go about it and it’s like a blessing to be in the same dressing room with him,” he said.
Going forward, I feel there will be a lot of runs for him in this series – Arshdeep Singh
The left-arm pacer also predicted that Kohli would score big runs in the rest of the three-match series against Australia. He said:
“Going forward, I feel there will be a lot of runs for him in this series as well and it speaks to the format he plays in, he has mastered this one.”
Arshdeep Singh shared the new ball with Mohammad Siraj in the first Odi and took the massive wicket of Travis Head on 8 in his first over. Talking about his approach with the ball in Odis, Arshdeep stated:
“Compared to T20IS, the approach is not the same in ODIs. Your mind is attacking at the start that you have to give the team wickets.”
But there is a mix-up, the red-ball length at the start – Arshdeep Singh
The Punjab left-arm pacer said that the length of the bowling is very important at the start of the ODI innings and the length of the T20 bowling is very important. Confirmed:
“But there is a mix, you have to put the red ball on the length, bowl with a bit of patience and put the batsman on top, whereas in T20s the batsman goes to attack you.
