Arsene Wenger, a former director of the Arsenal, has proposed a significant reform to the UEFA European League rating rules.
His suggestion comes when Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, both fighting the Premier League, are about to reach the European League final.
Currently, the winner of the Europa League wins an automatic place in the League Champions of the UEFA of the following season, a rule in force since 2014.
However, Wenger argues that this route to the highest competition in Europe should be rethinking, especially for the teams they supply nationally.
Arsene Wenger has an interesting suggestion
He believes that the winners of the Europa League should classify for the Europa League of the following season, maintaining the integrity of the Champions League.
While talking Leg sportsWenger said:
“They should automatically qualify for Europa League again, not necessarily for Champions League. Especially when you are in a league where five teams are ranked.”
He acknowledges that the current rule aims to maintain competitive European League, but questions its equity when teams like Man United and Tottenham, positioned on 15 and 16, respectively in the Premier League, could secure places in the Champions League through this bearer.
Tottenham and Man United fans are against Wenger

This perspective has led to the debate between football and fans.
Some argue that the incentive of the qualification of the European Champions League brings value and competitiveness to the tournament. The Wenger’s Opinion Calendar is key here, as United and Spurs, both club rivals, which has been managing for more than two decades, and wins a European trophy.
Others, like Wenger, feel that it harms the merit of European football.
As the Europa League final approaches, with United and Tottenham, maintaining important advantages in its semifinal bonds, UEFA may need to review and evaluate the implications of its qualification rules.
