Arsenal’s best players beat Bolton 5-1

Arsenal were in fine form on Wednesday evening, beating Bolton Wanderers in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

A brace from young star Ethan Nwaneri and goals from Declan Rice saw Raheem Sterling secure a very comfortable 5-1 win over the League One side, with the gunners as a result, he booked a fourth-round clash with Preston North End at the end of October.

Here are the Gunners’ best performers in the 5-1 win, courtesy of 90 minutes player ratings.

In his first competitive start for Arsenal, 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri really showed what all the fuss is about.

Nwaneri became the youngest player since Jack Wilshere in 2008 to score for the Gunners in the first half, curling a Raheem Sterling cross at the back post.

He then became the youngest Arsenal player since Arturo Lupoli in 2004 to score a brace for the club when he slotted home a second from Luke Southwood in the second half.

The attacking midfielder was simply outstanding.

Raheem Sterling looked like a man with a point to prove in his first outing since his loan move from Chelsea.

The wide forward showed his willingness to start the Premier League with a fantastic performance down the left flank in which he scored one goal and set up another, his first for the club. A beautiful

Declan rice: 8/10

There’s a case to be made that Declan Rice probably didn’t need to start the game against Bolton; they probably didn’t need him to beat a League One team.

The midfielder started, however, playing 62 minutes of the match, and he played quite well too.

The goal that opened the scoring, a shot from the edge of the area, was quite a spectacle.
