Arsenal vs Tottenham: Preview, Predictions and Lineups

It’s rarely a dull occasion when the north London rivals clash, with Arsenal welcoming Tottenham to the Emirates on Wednesday night.

We’ve seen far superior Spurs sides fail to win at their arch-rivals in the Premier League since their 3-2 win in 2010, but Ange Postecoglou’s side must feel the vulnerability in Arsenal’s ranks in front this meeting

The Gunners are struggling in the absence of Bukayo Saka and head into the derby after Newcastle beat them and Manchester United in two different national cup competitions. Their inability to convert chances has led to their recent demise, and they need to find a solution in the January transfer window to restart their season.

Defeat here could wipe them out Premier League title hopes.

A string of injuries have undermined Tottenham’s campaign but they remain strong in three cup competitions. win Liverpool and Tamworth, although it took them too long to get the job done on Sunday, means the mood inside the Ange camp is bright and they can play uninhibited on Wednesday as they play for so little in the Premier League .

A barren run in the competition means they are currently 12th in the table – 16 points ahead of arsenal.

here it is 90 minutes guide to Wednesday’s North London derby.

Arsenal’s injury problems worsened at the weekend, with Gabriel Jesús tearing his ACL during the FA Cup defeat against Man Utd.

Riccardo Calafiori is a doubt after missing Sunday’s Cup tie with a muscle injury. Myles Lewis-Skelly will be used at left-back if the Italian international is not fit. Jorginho and Jurrien Timber were also sent off against United, and both are expected to be fit for the visit of Spurs.

The hosts are still without Bukayo Saka, Ethan Nwaneri, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Predicted Arsenal vs Tottenham line-up (4-3-3): Stripe; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; Sterling, Havertz, Martinelli.

Rodrigo Bentancur

It looks as if the Spurs team will survive the frozen 4G pitch in Tamworth, although Postecoglou still has a number of absences to deal with.

The Australian manager could welcome Richarlison and Ben Davies back into the matchday squad on Wednesday, but Tottenham are still without Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario, Wilson Odobert and Destiny Udogie.

Rodrigo Bentancur suffered a concussion last week Victory by 1-0 in Liverpool in the Carabao Cup and shouldn’t be sidelined for too long after missing Sunday’s Cup win.

Antonin Kinsky’s third start for the club will come in the North London Derby. The young Czech goalkeeper has shown nothing but safety between the sticks so far.

Tottenham predicted line-up against Arsenal (4-3-3): Kinsky; Leek, Dragusin, Gray, Spence; Bissouma, Bergvall, Maddison; Kulusevski, Solanke, Son.

Arsenal’s inefficiency in front of goal can no longer be seen as the Gunners are on the wrong side of some bad luck. It’s a matter of skill. They find themselves without “killers” in the final third, especially with Saka out.

However, they continue to assert impressive control over games and should be successful against Tottenham’s build-up here given the visitors’ prolific injuries in defence. The Spurs, however, have shown signs of growth as a unit with several key pieces absent, and Kinsky has almost immediately enlivened the backline.

We may not be in for all the thrills and spills here, but there could be some late drama in a tense draw at the Emirates.

Prediction: Arsenal 1-1 Tottenham
