Arsenal star faces major surgery for ongoing injury struggles

Arsenal’s defender, Takehiro Tomiyasu, has even longer on the sidelines, with the club that he said he “explored” the possibility that Japan International will pass through another knee operation.

Tomiyasu suffered a knee injury in March 2023, surgery and lacking the rest of this campaign while recovering. The decline returned at the beginning of 2023/24, although a considerable part of the season came out when a beef problem took place.

He then lost the Japan World Cup’s classification matches in the summer of 2024 with more knee problems, which continued in the current campaign. Tomiyasu returned in early October and played six minutes off the bench against Southampton But it has not reappeared since then.

It Daily He writes that there is “emerging fears” about the form of Tomiyasu and Arsenal Doctors consider traveling the path of more surgery. But passing under the knife, while potentially a long-term solution, would rule the player for a “significant period of time” to recover.

In its most effective, Tomiyasu provides a versatile defensive cover on both sides of the four posterior ones. But its absence has been doubly problematic, as Ben White has also lacked. This has seen the midfielder Thomas Partey often be filled to the right in recent weeks.

Arsenal paid around £ 16 million to sign Tomiyasu in Bologna in the summer of 2021. His contract, which lasted less than a year ago, must expire at the end of next season. There is one more year option until 2027, but there are also speculations that Arsenal could hear offers this summer.
