Arsenal receive welcome boost from Martin Odegaard after claims of injury setback

Martin Odegaard is not believed to have suffered a setback in his ankle recovery injury.

The Arsenal captain went down during the international break in September and although the Gunners have not put a formal timetable on his recovery, Odegaard is expected to be fit enough to return in November.

During the current international period, however, reports emerged on social media claiming Odegaard had suffered a setback which now has him facing a return in December or early 2025.

A handful of outlets, including Sky Sports Newsthey have since dismissed the speculation, stressing that Odegaard continues to target a comeback in November.

arsenal He recently shared a video of Odegaard running with anti-gravity tape – an indication he’s still not comfortable putting his full weight on his ankle – with the Norway international describing the experience as “unreal”.

While Odegaard continues to progress in his recovery, Arsenal are now sweating over the fitness of winger Bukayo Saka, who withdrew from the English selection on Saturday after suffering an injury in the loss to Greece. The severity of his injury is not yet known.
