Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that the club are planning to strengthen before the end of the January transfer window.
The Gunners suffered another setback to their title hopes yesterday as they let a 2-0 lead slip to draw 2-2 at home to Aston Villa, while Liverpool beat Brentford earlier in the the day
While it’s a bit early to say that the title race is over for good, it looks like it will be very difficult for Arsenal to catch Liverpool, with Arteta’s side slipping up too often recently and suffering a lot of player injuries key
One thing that could turn Arsenal’s season around is a major signing up front, and Arteta suggested after the Villa game that they are working on bringing in someone…

Fabrizio Romano has posted above about Arteta’s comments, with the Spanish tactician sending a clear message that he lacks options on the bench.
“When you look at the bench, probably, we are very low,” Arteta said after the game.
Who could Arsenal sign before the end of the January transfer window?
Unfortunately for Arsenal, it tends to be trickier to land big deals in the middle of the season than in the summer, so it remains to be seen if they can pull off the kind of game-changing deal they need.
However, the Gunners remain linked with one exciting big name in the form of Benjamin Seskoaccording to the Daily Mirror and others, so maybe this story will end up going somewhere.
It is also linking up with the AFC Goal machine of Sporting de Lisboa Viktor Gyokeres for the teamso that could be another exciting story to watch.
If Arsenal can’t sign either of these strikers, a winger or striker to help them cope while Saka is injured could be another option worth serious consideration.
