Nothing is going right for Arsenal at the moment as they blew a two-goal lead against Aston Villa in the Premier League.
The Gunners faced Unai Emery’s side thanks to goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz.
However, two second-half goals from Villa, Youri Tielemans and Ollie Watkins secured a crucial point for Villa against Arsenal away from home.
The Gunners were without long-term injured strikers Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka.
Also, star defender William Saliba missed the game with the north London club due to another injury.
Saliba picked up a hamstring injury in the Premier League win against Tottenham and the French defender missed the game against Aston Villa.
When Mikel Arteta was asked about the extent of Saliba’s injury, he said, as quoted by Evening Standard:
“No, not yet.
“I think tomorrow we’ll have more information, we’ll do another test on him and we’ll have more clarity on that.”
Arteta has been more pressured by the central defender’s injury and has asked him if he is worried about the current situation at the club.
He said:
“Yeah, sure, especially with the numbers we have in the squad and looking at our bench, very concerned.”
Arsenal have been unlucky with injuries all season
Saliba joins Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Riccardo Calafiori as other defenders currently injured.
The Gunners have been unlucky with injuries all season with Martin Odegaard, Calafiori, Jesus, Saka and White all out for considerable time.
The lack of depth in the squad is evident and that is why the Gunners are planning to make additions to the team in the January transfer window.
They have been linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres as well as out of favor Man United star Marcus Rashford.
