Arsenal are still in the market for a winger but may have to sell first

Arsenal are still in the market for a winger as they look to add depth to their attack with reports suggesting any potential move could hinge on selling players.

The Gunners have started the season with two wins from two and managed to win at Villa Park last weekend in what was perhaps an early display of their title credentials.

It has been a quiet summer for Mikel Arteta’s side with only Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino arriving at the Emirates, but they have also managed to move a number of players.

Arsenal still in the market for a full-back

The Gunners have agreed a deal with Southampton for Aaron Ramsdale, while Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah have joined Fulham and Crystal Palace respectively.

Arsenal were thought to be signing a centre-forward, but after heavy interest in Benjamin Sesko earlier in the summer, it looks like Arteta will stick with his options of Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz.

One area where Arsenal look light is in the wide positions, especially with the support of Bukayo Saka and The Telegraph have reported that the Gunners are still looking for a winger to add depth to the attack.

The report claims that any move could be dependent on player sales, with Reiss Nelson one player who could be on the move, and is believed to have attracted interest from the likes of West Ham.

Arsenal currently have Saka, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli as options in wide areas, while Jesus could do a job there, it’s clearly an area that lacks depth.

With so little time in the window, any move will have to be made quickly, but Arteta appears to be happy with the squad he has at his disposal, and Arsenal will be hoping it’s third time lucky with the Spaniard and can end the wait over 20 for a Premier League title.
