Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is not convinced Brighton striker Evan Ferguson as it appears that the Gunners will not pursue this transfer as a priority.

The Gunners could certainly make some changes up front soon as Bukayo Saka has had to play a lot of games at a young age and could risk injury or exhaustion if he doesn’t get more rest.

Kai Havertz, meanwhile, has filled in a lot up front, but he’s probably not a natural No.9, so it makes sense to bring in someone like Ferguson.

International of the Republic of Ireland He looks like an excellent young talent, even if his recent form at Brighton hasn’t been the best, but Arsenal don’t seem to be convinced by him.

This according to a report by give me sportwhich suggests Arsenal will only consider dipping into the loan market for a striker this January if it can be the kind of deal that helps them to the title.

Ferguson may not be on Arsenal’s agenda right now, but it seems the 20-year-old’s dip in form hasn’t stopped Chelsea.

A recent report by TEAMtalk claimed the Blues remained interested in Ferguson, although Brighton could still value him at up to £100m.

It would surely be crazy money for anyone to pay for Ferguson right now, with the youngster surely needing to get back on a good run of games first.

It’s been a few months since we really saw the best of Ferguson, and he needs to show that the good form he showed not too long ago wasn’t just a blip.

Chelsea could perhaps do with more depth up front, but at the moment Ferguson doesn’t look like he would be an upgrade over Nicolas Jackson or Christopher Nkunku.
