Arsenal are eyeing Monaco sporting director Thiago Scuro as a potential candidate to replace the departing Edu in that role at the Emirates Stadium.
Scuro has impressed during his time with Ligue 1 giants Monaco, and it appears he is now being put forward as a candidate for the Gunners, according to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio.
Edu is also highly regarded within the game and it will surely not be easy for Arsenal to replace him, but fellow Brazilian Scuro looks like an option worth considering.
Old players like it Per Mertesacker has also been linked to Arsenal amid uncertainty over who could replace Edu.

Arsenal fans will be hoping that whoever comes in can continue Edu’s shrewd work in the transfer market, and Scuro has certainly done well in that department at Monaco.
What could Thiago Scuro bring to Arsenal?
Di Marzio’s report claims Scuro is a tough negotiator, with the 43-year-old overseeing some big sales from the French club.
Scuro has also worked with the Red Bull Group in the past, and they are also known for identifying top young talent and selling them for a profit.
Monaco are also flying high in the Champions League this season, with Scuro clearly helping to attract young players and develop them well in a positive environment.
Arsenal will certainly not rush into a big decision like this, but Scuro clearly looks like a strong candidate and it will be interesting to see if he emerges as one of the favorites for the role.
