Liverpool and Arne Slot have received an apology from Amazon Prime after a member of the broadcaster’s team made false allegations relating to the Dutch manager’s behavior at half-time of the Reds’ game with Newcastle.

Wednesday’s clash at St James’ Park provided fans with one of the games of the season with two teams drawing 3-3.

Liverpool were superb in the second half as Slot’s men twice came from behind to make it 3-2, which Mohamed Salah won praise from his boss. It was a stark contrast to the opening 45 minutes as the Dutch manager’s men were unable to match the intensity displayed by Newcastle.

The Magpies led 1-0 at the break courtesy of an Alexander Isak rocket and Slot would not have been happy with what he saw.

Amazon Prime, which broadcast the match in the UK, claimed that the Liverpool manager had visited the referee’s room at half-time as the former Feyenoord manager was unhappy after three of his players had received a penalty in the first part.

The comment was made by presenter Dan Walker during the broadcast and was something put to Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, who responded by saying via The Athletic: “I don’t think I will go there. I think it’s a can of worms. I tend to focus on my team.”

according to The AthleticAmazon Prime has issued an apology to Slot with the situation recognized by both parties as a production misunderstanding. The matter is said to be considered closed by Liverpool after accepting the broadcaster’s expression of regret.

The Dutch manager is focusing his team on Saturday’s game with Everton, which will be the last Merseyside Derby played at Goodison Park.
