Tottenham have completed the stunning signing of Archie Gray from Leeds United in the summer, but the youngster is already tipping for a return to the Championship side in January.

After a very impressive season at Elland Road, many clubs had their eye on the midfielder ahead of the 2024/25 campaign. However, it was Spurs who would secure the services of the 18-year-old as part of a £30m offer with Leeds, with the English talent set for a great future in North London.

Given his age and the competition for places in Ange Postecoglou’s squad, Gray has not featured as much as he would like so far this term.

The 18-year-old has made just five Premier League appearances, totaling just 41 minutes of action. In total, the youngster has played in 11 games, which should be enough to help him develop.

He reported it GiveMeSport which are Tottenham expecting several loan offers to arrive for Gray in the January transfer window and pundit Carlton Palmer has encouraged Leeds to bring their academy graduate to the club to help them push for a return to the Premier League for the remainder of the campaign.

It is still unclear whether the north London outfit are willing to let Gray go, but if they are, it would be better to keep him in the Premier League as that is the level Spurs want him to reach.

Expert tips Archie Gray to return to Leeds United

In light of the report regarding Gray’s future, pundit Carlton Palmer has encouraged Leeds to make a loan bid for the 18-year-old in January.

“Tottenham are preparing for a number of clubs to test the waters in terms of taking Archie Gray on loan,” said the pundit. World Football League. “There is talk of Premier League and Championship clubs interested in signing him on loan. Postecoglou is still highly regarded by Gray. He sees the 18-year-old as a very shrewd piece of business that will pay off in the long run deadline”.

Palmer went on to say: “He’s highly rated but his playing time has been affected, he hasn’t had enough playing time. So far this season he’s only played 393 minutes of action in all competitions, so that the question remains: will they let him go on loan?

“If they let him go, Leeds may have missed out on his return with Premier League clubs interested. It would be great business if they could pull it off, but there will be plenty of competition for the midfielder.

“I don’t think I would want to go to the likes of Southampton, who are struggling, maybe Leicester City, who are out of the relegation zone.

“I think it would be a great fit for him to come back to Leeds. He’s only 18, he’s very versatile, as Leeds fans know, and he could play a big part from Christmas until the end of the season, helping them get promoted in the Premier League.

Palmer could have something here as Gray could benefit massively from a return to Elland Road but, having made the move to the Premier League, would the youngster and Spurs want him back in the Championship?
