Antonio Tarver predicts Canelo will lose against Terence Crawford if Crawford resisted at 168 pounds

Commentator Antonio Tarver predicts that Canelo Alvarez will lose against Terence Crawford if he can handle his power on September 13. The only question that Tarver has for this fight is whether Crawford (41-0, 31 CO’s) can handle Canelo’s power at 168, because he essentially rises three weight classes.

Crawford must handle Canelo’s power

Terence’s One Fight at 154 against Israel Madrimov was not enough to call him last August after moving up to the weight class. It takes more than one fight, and he did not fight any of the killers in that division to show that he belongs to junior middleweight.

Tarver notes that the last time he saw a version of Canelo (63-2-2, 39 COs) that would beat Crawford when he fought Caleb plant in 2021. However, he is not even sure that the version of Canelo Crawford would beat.

“If he arrives like against Scull, Berlanga and Munguia, (he’s going to lose). He didn’t have enough activities, ‘Tarver said Ko -artist sports He did not go for enough about Canelo regularly enough.

Canelo doesn’t have to throw much push in his last three fights because it was so too much that he could do the minimum. Those fighters should never have been ranked highly, given their weak CVs and limited talent.

Plant Fight: Peak Canelo

“The last time I saw Canelo, it would be planting this Crawford was planting. When the Canelo comes, it will be a hellish fight. I even give Crawford a chance. So, this is the type of talent I think Crawford is, ‘says Tarver.

I disagree with Tarver. There is no difference between the Canelo who fought Caleb plant and what he looked like against Scull. The only difference is that Skull was not prepared to exchange bumps as plant did. His constant movement limited the opportunities that Canelo had to beat, but he still benefited from the Times that Scull would stop moving to large, striking shots.

“He will have to get used to power. If he can take Canelo’s power, he’s going to win the battle, ‘Tarver said about Crawford.

Ideally, Crawford should have moved to 168 late last year to take a setup against a top-15 contender when it was clear that Turki Alalshikh would fight with Canelo.

Getting used to Canelo’s power during the fight will be difficult for Crawford. He is not young and comes from a year -long dismissal. He has been too inactive for the past five years since 2020 and has only fought five times.
