Yankees fans were begging for someone to come up with a huge moment, and Volpe’s at-bat was a huge turning point in the series and will now go down in history.
The grand slam got the bats moving and the Yankees rallied for six more runs after Volpe’s huge at-bat to finally snap out of the slump they’d been in all series.
