During their initial face-off, Jake Paul seemed nervous, but now he’s settled in, and he’s preaching confidence. Paul is a polarizing social media figure, while his opponent, Anthony Joshua, is the face of British boxing.
Surprisingly, Jake Paul has wanted to fight Anthony Joshua for the past few years because he is not impressed with Joshua’s skills. Paul thinks Joshua is a basic fighter who has found success because of his size and strength.
Anthony Joshua respects Jake Paul as an opponent, but he believes Jake is nowhere near being on his level. Rapper/sports analyst Cam’ron hosted an episode of MVP Face 2 Face. During the episode, Joshua elaborated on his theory.
“It’s not that he can’t compete, but if you talk about, like, music, how many albums I’ve put out, how many mixtapes I’ve put out. He just doesn’t have the work that I’ve got in boxing,” Joshua said.
Both AJ and Jake are taking this fight seriously, but some fight fans are still feeling skeptical. Those fans believe the fight is scripted and riddled with contractual clauses.
Fans can rest assured that the Jake vs Joshua match is a real fight. The only clause attached to the contract is that the 6’6″ 260 260 pound Anthony Joshua must shrink to 245 pounds.
Jake Paul’s team assumed the weight clause would be an advantage, but according to Anthony Joshua the clause was beneficial. As a result of the weight reduction, Joshua says he feels faster and stronger.
Anthony Joshua is aware of the boxing community’s knockout expectations. AJ wants the knockout, but in the process of getting the KO, Joshua wants to take Paul’s soul.
“When you’re fighting, you can just see a little glimmer of someone that’s just going to fade, and then you just keep exploiting it,” Joshua said. “For me, it’s not just about going in there and being physically dominant. I want to break him down mentally and emotionally.”
During the past five years, Jake Paul has trained hard and dedicated himself as it relates to becoming a legitimate boxer. However, the sport of boxing is based on levels, and Joshua is levels above Jake Paul.
Jake Paul says he will beat Anthony Joshua, but the question is does Paul really believe in what he says? If you analyze the fight honestly, you should come to the conclusion that Anthony Joshua is going to beat Jake Paul.
Paul shows tremendous courage, but unfortunately for him, he lacks the skills necessary to defeat Joshua. The former two-time heavyweight champion’s right hand is like NyQuil, and Jake Paul is going to get his dose Friday night.
When the bell rings to start the fight, Anthony Joshua is going to take his time, use his finesse, throw the jab and determine range and distance. Once Joshua makes the right calculations, it will be lights out for Jake Paul.
It’s very hard to show optimism in Jake’s favor because it’s hard to see how Paul will manage to avoid getting hit by AJ’s right hand. Paul is strong on the attack, but when Joshua pushes forward, Paul will not be able to fight effectively from the back foot.
For Friday night’s Jake vs Joshua main event, the ring walks will be epic, and the crowd will be filled with electricity. However, the actual match would be short, due to the fact that AJ’s medicinal right hand would put Paul to sleep within four rounds.
