Angelo Gabriel agrees to join Al-Nassr from Chelsea in €23m deal

Angelo Gabriel has agreed to join Saudi club Al-Nassr from Chelsea in a deal worth €23m, according to Fabrizio Romano.

It was another busy summer for the Blues with the arrival of several new faces, the most notable of which were Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Jadon Sancho.

There was a lot of talk over the summer about the size of Chelsea’s squad and while they were able to find deadline day loan deals for Raheem Sterling, Trevoh Chalobah and Armando Broja, there were still a number of players in the which could not find solutions.

Angelo joins Al-Nassr

Although the transfer window closed suddenly for most leagues last Friday, there are still a number of windows open, including Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

One player the Blues were looking to move on was Brazilian Angelo, with the club taking advantage of the Saudi window still open, and Romano has revealed the 19-year-old will join Al-Nassr.

He took X.com and said:

“Angelo Gabriel leaving Chelsea to join Al Nassr, here we are confirmed! Medical done and documents exchanged, reviewed tonight. €23m fee plus sell-on clause as Chelsea want.

With Angelo’s move, he will link up with young Brazilian Wesley who joined Al-Nassr this summer from Corinthians, while he will now also be team-mates with Cristiano Ronaldo.

The winger only joined Chelsea last summer from Santos in a deal worth £12.6million and leaves after not even making a competitive appearance for the Blues.

Chelsea are in line to make a profit on the Brazilian, while they will also have to pay a cash windfall when Angelo finally leaves Al-Nassr after agreeing a sell-on clause.

Unfortunately for Angelo, with the options ahead of him, he simply wasn’t going to look with the first team and he’s young enough to be back in Europe and doing things in a few years time.
