In its ninth season as a LPGA pro, The yin angel There was only one victory in her resume before Sunday: 2023 Buic Lpga Shanghai. But she has had a couple Narrow calls at major events in its attempt to add to that result, perhaps mostly to 2023 Chevron Championshipwhere it co-restored the superiority of the 54 holes and the second ended, and the group championship in the 2024 CME groups, where it also co-directed through three rounds just to complete the race.
On Sunday in 2025 Honda Lpga Thailand, however, things finally went to Yin’s path.
The 26-year-old American had a five-stroke lead going to the last round, and managed to hold an Akie Iwai charge, a novice, who challenged Yin with a last round round, making the result better its round opening of its opening 62 by one shot. Iwai ended a kick behind Yin on 27 under par. Jeeno Thitikul was the third on 21 under par.
Sunday’s round without Bogey of Yin 65 included seven birds, and should have enabled it to coast to victory, but Iwai round pressure meant that yin had to sink a bunch bird making a short blow to The 18th hole to seal the victory-and it did.
The four -round meeting of Yin from 28 under par set a new record of tournament, and is the lowest result with 72 holes in LPGA Tour since Lydia Ko’s Performance at Lotte 2021 Championship.
“I’ve never played the last round with a five stroke lead,” Yin said after her round. “I knew I wasn’t super comfortable. It’s not a tour or golf course where five shots are many. Considering that AKIE shot on Thursday 10th, I knew she was able and capable of shooting a low score.
“I knew I just had to continue to play how I was playing and we’ll see what happens,” she continued. “My physics said if it’s mine, it’s mine. I think it’s mine.”
With the victory, Yin claimed the winner of $ 255,000 and grew up at the top of the race for the CME Globe rankings.
Next week, the LPGA Tour’s Asian swing continues in Singapore for the HSBC Women’s World Championship, followed by a stop in China before returning to the SH.BA for the Ford Championship in Arizona on March 27.
