Ange Postecoglou repeats the transfer message after Tottenham’s latest defeat

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou insisted his belief in his project is unwavering despite Sunday’s crushing defeat at Evertonbut he admitted that new signings are vital to turning things around.

A shocking first-half performance seemed to put the final nail in Postecoglou’s coffin as spurs They went down 3-0 at the relegation-threatened Toffees, only for a spirited second-half display to leave Postecoglou upbeat.

“If you look at the situation we’re in, it will eventually dissipate,” Postecoglou said. Sky Sports after the match “I certainly hope and believe it will be.

“We’ll give ourselves a chance to get consistency in performance and results. I’ve certainly not lost belief or determination to turn it around and the players showed in the second half that neither.”

However, Postecoglou admitted his team’s constant battle with injuries: striker Dominic Solanke was the latest to head to the sidelines with a knee injury – should force Spurs to act before the transfer window closes.

“We’re pretty stretched,” he said. “We literally had 11 players fit enough to start the game. We didn’t have full control of our organization and Everton took advantage of that and we paid the price. Radu (Dragusin) had to come off because of the deep cut and restructure .

“There will be urgency (in the transfer market) but I don’t need to say that, everyone sees it. I have no problem with how the club is doing, they are working hard and trying to find solutions. These players need help, that’s for sure, and we hope that in the next ten days we will find a solution. It is very complicated, we are not the only ones in the market.”
