Andy Cruz coach Derek ‘Bozy’ Ennis believes he has the goods to defeat WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson. He considers the battle as a “Technical” One, but he feels that the Cuban Olympic medal of 2020 has power that distinguishes him from Stevenson.

Ennis -back players Andy Cruz
Cruz (6-0, 3 food) showed some his power in his recent knockout of Hironori Mishiro in an IBF lightweight title on June 14. He dropped Mishiro twice with big shots in round three, and had him about to go down fifth when the referee stopped the competition.
Shakur is a good fighter, but he cannot crack eggs and will be overwhelmed by Cruz’s offense. The offensive restrictions and the tendency to move uninterrupted if they are under pressure would prevent Stevenson from beating a fighter of Andy Cruz’s class.
Hearn Protect Shakur Stevenson
It is doubtful that Shakur’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, will fight him against Andy Cruz, because his focus is to send him in the mega money one against Gervonta Davis. Hearn did not sign Shakur just to put him at the 2020 Olympic Golden Medal of Cruz and watch him be exposed to a one -sided loss.
The way to get a return on the money that Hearn paid to sign Shakur is to make him win long enough to get the tank Davis battle. That’s why Stevenson was linked to Josh Padley in February in February. It’s about winning him. It’s pathetic, but it’s business.
“It would be a huge battle, he and Shakur. Yes, indeed, ‘said coach Derek’ Bozy ‘Ennis to IceM Sports Media about a fight between Andy Cruz and Shakur Stevenson. “I had to go with my husband (cruz). That’s what it’s going to be, technical, ‘Bozy said when asked what kind of fight it would be between Cruz and Shakur.
Cruz = Shakur’s offensive nightmare
Andy Cruz would be a nightmare for Shakur because of his hand speed, precision punishment and excellent offensive skills. Cruz’s production is better than Shakur’s, and its power is far above Shakur’s. We saw Stevenon’s restrictions when he fought Edwin de Los Santos and Jeremiah Nakathilia. He is forced to run against fighters with power, and does not have the ability to stand his land as Cruz does.
“Both are smart, sharp, and they know what they are doing. They don’t waste shots when you look at it. One thing about Andy is that he is listening to you, and he performs. People think he can’t punch, but he can hit, ‘Bozy said about Cruz.
Andy’s ability to listen and follow Bozy’s instructions like a machine is what makes him so dangerous. If Bozy tells Cruz to go to Shakur, he will follow orders and probably knock him out. This would be a one -sided fight due to Stevenson’s lack of offense.
If you could transplant the power of Gervonta Davis into Shakur’s body, he would get Andy Cruz a chance to beat. But with the way he is now, he would be food for Andy and be embarrassed.
Andy’s skills: speed, precision
“You pay attention to one, two, three rounds, he gets better and better. He is turning on more and more. That’s when he starts to pick it up. I think that’s his accuracy. The way he throws the push, and he is accurate. He doesn’t miss many shots if you notice. I think he thinks he has fast too. He also has speed.
Cruz defeated Hironori Mishiro on June 14 in an IBF lightweight title -Liminator to become the mandatory challenger for champion Raymond Muratalla. The battle between Andy and Muratalla could take place later this year or 2026. It depends on the IBF and the top rank.
It is believed that Muratalla’s promoters on the top rank will delay the Cruz fight for as long as possible because there is a great chance that he is losing. You can’t blame them. Muratalla is a good fighter, but one -dimensional and will be too much like Shakur against Cruz.
