Magical creator of bad behavior Mirria Andva Continues to impose its identity on the Wimbledon field.
In her debut at the Center Court, Andreeva issued a strong and diverting blow to hit her path in history.
18-year-old Andreeva implemented her acumen of all judges by rejecting American American Emma Navarro 6-2, 6-3 to become the youngest woman to reach Wimbledon’s quarterfinals in 18 years.
It was a comprehensive show from the Indian Wells champion, who converted six of the seven points of rest against a clumsy Navarro.
Andreeva is the youngest woman to arrive at Wimbledon eight last since Nicole Vaidisova In 2007 – and the first teenager to progress to the quarter -finals since the two Victoria Azarenka AND Sabine Lisicki in 2009.
Andreeva then admitted that she had a lot in her mind: the pressure of playing for a big quarter-final, her first appearance in the Central Court-playing directly in front of her tennis hero, Roger Federer, who sat alongside women Mirka at the Royal Box watching the entire 75-minute match. In fact, Andreeva said she tried to play as if wearing the blinders to avoid seeing the Federer family and reduce the perspective of the nerves that consume it.
“Honestly, it’s crazy. I was very nervous before playing the first time in the center court,” Andreeva said. “I really tried my best not to look there and just hit the ball.
“At 4-1 Pasha Roger and Mirka. Honestly, it means a lot to me that you came and watched my match. It was my dream to see you in real life, so when I saw you both got really nervous and I’m just happy.
“I just want to say MIRRA you look great. I like your outfit.
The Victory Vaults 2024 Roland Garros semifinalist a winner away from Wimbledon’s semifinals. To advance, it will need to beat the Spring String Belinda Bencicwho once Federer’s partner in Hopman Cup Championship.
The Olympic Champion of the Gold Medal Bencic beat with the 18th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova 7-6 (4), 6-4 to advance in her daughter’s quarterfinals Wimbledon.
The US Open Navarro semi -finalist produced a great run in its second consecutive SW19 quarterfinal, but fought to produce its best tennis today. An nervous navarro was sometimes falling all over again – and when he did, Andreeva sometimes burned with agile touch and that starting stroke.
Navarro’s 10th Navarros Departure Leaves 13th Amanda Animova While the only American woman still standing in this single field.
The 13th Animova with the 13th seed will play the former open French finalist Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova tomorrow with a semifinal place in line.
In recent matches, Andreeva repeatedly decided to dragged the dot by pulling Navarro in the court areas she did not want to visit. At one point, Andreeva used the combination of shots to send the American by taking care of the whole way near the back wall.
Andreeva scored her 10th career victory 10, including her sixth best victory of this season.
The young man shared that she made her playing mental games with herself. After Andreeva converted the point of the match, the Center Court’s crowd broke out – just to see the Russian teenager walking back to the initial base preparing to play another point.
Later, Andreeva shared the mental deception she played with herself: constantly telling herself that she was at rest instead of sailing.
“Honestly, I just kept telling myself that I was facing resting points,” Andreeva said. “I tried to tell myself that I’m not the one in the result. I’m down.
“I think this helped me stay focused and in the end I forget the result and I’m happy. I did it because I think I would be three more nervous items at the point of match.”
Before Andreeva play Bencic for a last place, she plans Monday in her second job: Coach.
Andreeva said she is looking forward to a role of returning her coach, 1994 Wimbledon Champion Conchita Martinez When the Spaniard gets the court playing Legends Doubles tomorrow.
“Yes, I will take my revenge finally,” joked Andreeva for the Conchita training coach. “I think it starts tomorrow. So I’m already thinking about a poster I will do and I hope some people will help me.”
