Andre Ward’s necessary heavyweight opponents to justify a fight with Anthony Joshua

Andre Ward said this week that he would come out of the pension to encounter Anthony Joshua “If the business was right.” The offer was met with a sarcastic response from former double-edged heavyweight champion Joshua and said: ‘Payment Day Payment Day (Canelo vote).

For the 41-year-old ward (32-0, 16 COs) to be taken seriously, he must come out of his eight-year retirement and beat one or preferably two top heavyweight contenders.

Ward has been out of the sport since 2017, and there is not much interest from boxing fans to look at the former 168 and 175 pound world champion after eight years for a money grab to make his retirement more luxurious.

“If the business was right, and everything was on that front, Anthony Joshua and I, it’s a fight I would take at Wembley Stadium,” Andre Ward said on Instagram. “It’s a fight that would find me in the gym and get me in the mindset that I have to go to war.”
