Analyst believes Giants should sign 1 MLB free agent

The San Francisco Giants missed the postseason for the third straight year, finishing 80-82, which landed them in fourth place in the National League West.

Since winning the World Series in 2014, the Giants have only made the postseason twice, both ending in National League Division Series losses.

The Giants lost starting pitcher Blake Snell to free agency this offseason, and they only made one major move, adding Willie Adams from the Milwaukee Brewers.

MLB analyst CJ Nitkowski revealed that he thinks the Giants should sign free agent starting pitcher Corbin Burns this offseason.

“When you look at the teams that need Corbin Burns the most and the name we’re hearing is the Giants, I’d put them at the top of my list,” Nitkowski said via Sirius XM’s MLB Network Radio.

Nitkowski names the Giants as the team that needs Burns the most, and he says that’s especially important after losing Snell in free agency.

Burns is 30 years old and entered the majors in 2018 with the Milwaukee Brewers, where he played for six seasons before going to the Baltimore Orioles in 2024.

The four-time All-Star had another solid year in 2024, where he started 32 games and posted a 15-9 record with a 2.92 ERA and 181 strikeouts in 194.1 innings.

Burns grew up in the California area, and that has been cited as a possible reason he would like to sign with the Giants.

The Giants will be looking to win their first NL West title since 2021, and signing Burns will only help them achieve that goal.
