Major League Baseball’s offseason has seen some major moves so far, as Blake Snell signed with the World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers for five years and $182 million.
While there have been other notable moves, everyone is still waiting for New York Yankees shortstop Juan Soto to make his decision.
Some of the teams reportedly talking to Soto include the Yankees, Dodgers, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays.
MLB insider Ken Rosenthal recently revealed his thoughts on what will happen when Soto finally agrees to a deal.
“Pretty much every part of the market is going to move after he’s signed. … There’s this incredible domino effect that’s going to happen when he signs,” Rosenthal said, via Foul Territory.

Just 26 years old, Soto has played seven MLB seasons with three organizations.
After debuting as a 19-year-old with the Washington Nationals in 2018, Soto also played for the San Diego Padres before coming to the Yankees in 2024.
Soto earned his breakout free agent status after a season that included 157 games with a .288 batting average, 41 home runs, 109 RBI and a .989 OPS.
Rosenthal said he believes Soto holds the market because where he goes will determine what other teams do.
Once Soto gets on the board, the free agent class should start to thin out as teams will be ready and able to sign other big names they’re hoping for.
Soto could reportedly sign soon, perhaps during the upcoming Winter Meetings, and that will be something to keep an eye on as many players could sign shortly after as well.
