An analyst predicts where Garrett Crochet will sell

Major League Baseball’s offseason heats up as the top free agent in this year’s class, Juan Soto, signed a 15-year, $765 million contract with the New York Mets.

It was previously believed that once Soto made his decision, the door would be opened for other big-name players to move.

While there are plenty of other big-name free agents, there are also some big-name players expected to be traded this offseason.

The starting pitcher who has been involved in multiple trade talks is Garrett Crochet of the Chicago White Sox.

MLB analyst Bob Nightingale revealed his prediction for who Crochet will be traded to.

“I still think he’s going to the Philadelphia Phillies,” Nightengale said via Foul Territory on “X.”

The Phillies have made the postseason in each of the last three seasons, ending with a World Series loss in 2022, a National League Championship Game loss in 2023 and a National League Division Series loss in 2024.

Nightengale notes that the Phillies’ window to win a World Series is closing because some of their best players will be free agents in the near future.

The White Sox are coming off the worst season in MLB history, and they will want to get the best possible package in exchange for Crochet.

Despite pitching to MLB’s worst team in 2024, Crotchet had a productive season that included 32 starts and a record of 6-12 with a 3.58 ERA and 209 strikeouts in 146.0 innings.

Crochet will be a name to watch in the coming days/weeks as the season progresses.
