Ruben Amorim had his best day as Man United manager at the weekend as his side produced an impressive comeback to beat rivals Man City 2-1.
Pep Guardiola’s men were in control of the game before a mistake by Matheus Nunes led to Amad Diallo winning a penalty for the Red Devils. The winger would then score the winner, bringing jubilation to the Man United fans: Diallo received high praise from Roy Keane.
Amorim, 22, has put his faith in his team’s right side and the Ivory Coast star has massively boosted his new manager.

Diallo has started five of the Portuguese coach’s first seven matches, scoring one goal and providing four assists.
The winger is out of contract at Old Trafford in 2025 and although the Premier League club have the right to extend that deal by a year, the Manchester side hope that tie Diallo to a new deal very soon.

Diallo’s life looks even better after his Manchester Derby display Football Insider reports that the winger is in advanced talks with Man United over a new contract and that an agreement could be reached before the end of the month.
The Manchester club have made the youngster’s new contract a priority as Amorim appears to be a big fan of the Ivory Coast international.
Diallo’s performance at Man City may just be the start for the 22-year-old as the winger has locked down his role on the right for the foreseeable future. With the futures of Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho at Old Trafford up in the air, the young talent can be the man to push the Red Devils forward under Amorim.
