Ally McCoist slammed a Spurs player for the part he played in Mohammed Kudus’ first goal in Saturday afternoon’s Premier League game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Despite coming into the game in the worst form, having lost 3-2 against Brighton last time out, Spurs were overwhelming favorites to take all three points.

Despite the betting markets, however, the traveling Hammers took the lead after just 18 minutes.

Ghana international Kudus was the first to react to Jarrod Bowen’s cross with a goal from the African that left Guglielmo Vicario with no chance.

And speaking of the forward’s first goal, TNT Sports co-commentator Ally McCoist singled out Brennan Johnson as the player to blame.

“To be brutally honest with you, it probably should have been Brennan Johnson who should have brought more in,” said the 62-year-old after reviewing a replay of Kudus’ goal.

It’s hard to be too critical of Johnson. the welsh has been in great form recently — scored in each of his last six games for club and country.

McCoist is right though, the 23-year-old was miles away from West Ham’s number 14.

Allowed into the Spurs box by Johnson’s failure to track down his man, the Hammers had a chance to take the lead.
