Liverpool went into the half-time break in their Champions League clash with Girona at 0-0 with Alisson Becker playing a key role in their comeback.
The Brazilian has been sidelined for the Reds since picking up a Hamstring injury during 1-0 win against Crystal Palace at the start of October with Caoimhin Kelleher moving up to the Merseyside club in recent weeks.
Arne Slot claimed that the Irish goalkeeper’s performance levels made it possible Alisson will take his time to regain full formwhich the 32-year-old finally did on Tuesday night.
The Brazil international would have hoped for a quiet return against Girona, however, the La Liga side caused problems for the Premier League outfit in the first half of their encounter, forcing Alisson into big saves.
The standout save came in the 38th minute, when the Liverpool keeper made a brilliant save from Yáser Asprilla’s long-range shot.

Liverpool star Alisson shows why he is the best in the world

Alisson was forced into four saves in the opening 45 minutes of Liverpool’s clash with Girona and showed no signs of needing to get back up to speed after his lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The Brazilian showed why he is considered by many to be the best goalkeeper in the world; which is a huge stamp to consider considering the last season of Thibaut Courtois, Mike Maignan and David Raya.
The 32-year-old’s return is a huge boost to Liverpool’s title hopes and Slot will undoubtedly need his goalkeeper to make more huge saves between now and the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
