Algieri explains how Pacquiao’s power allows him to fight against Barrios at 46

Chris Algieri says the reason why Manny Pacquiao can still fight at 46 is because he has always been a big puncher during his career.

Power is the last thing to age for outdated fighters, and Pacquiao (62-8-2, 39 CO’s) still has the on the way to his undeserved title shot against the WBC Welterweight Champion Mario Barrios.

Outdated Pacquiao’s knockout drought

Manny was a knockout holder in his younger days, but his power suddenly abandoned him in 2010. Since then, his food has come little and far. If he thinks he wins against Barrios (29-2-1, 18 COs), he makes himself. It’s not going to happen.

If someone is going to get a standstill in this battle, it’s Barrios, because he’s a decent puncher himself, and he’s much younger at 30 years. Pacquiao-Barrios is on this Saturday, July 19 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The event will be pointed to PBC Prime video PPV for $ 79.99.

“The fact that Manny Pacquiao can punch means he can fight a little longer,” Chris Algieri said Fighting type. “Manny is a puncher. He has an opportunity because of his power to still be. “

What is Algieri talking about? Pacquiao did not fight in four years. He wasn’t there yet. And the only reason he gets this title shot is a combination of business and the WBC gives him a top -15 ranking.

Pacquiao lost his last fight four years ago in 2021 and at the time looked as old as the hills. He gets a title shot on a silverboard without working for it.

Is Pacquiao still a puncher?

Pacquiao has not knocked out an opponent in seven years. For that, he has not stopped in nine years since 2009. When Algieri said Pacquiao was still fighting because he was a puncher, he was gone because he stopped being a puncher in 2009 when his knockout dried up.

“As far as age is concerned, it’s worried to me. 46 is 46,” Algieri said about Pacquiao.

It is age, inactivity and the wear and tear of a long pro career. What Algieri does not say is that Pacquiao washed Ugas in his last battle against Yordenis in 2021. He lost the battle and then blamed it on his calves who had scratched up.
