Middleweight prospect Alexandre Gaumont will take on Cristian Zarate in Gatineau, Canada on October 17th.
The Eye of The Tiger event will see Gaumont, who is a popular local, fight for the third time in front of his hometown fans at the Lac Leamy Casino.
Gaumont (11-0, 7 KOs) looks set to be the first to stop Argentina’s Zarate (10-4, 3 KOs).
Meanwhile, in the co-feature, light heavyweight Mehmet Unal (10-0, 8 KOs) will face a still-determined opponent in a scheduled 10-round contest.
In the undercard, Steve Claggett (38-8-2, 26 KOs) will look to get back into the win column after coming up short against Ring/WBO junior welterweight titleholder Teofimo Lopez (UD 12) in June. His opponent has not been finalized.
Vanessa Lepage Joanisse (7-2, 2 KOs) will also fight for the first time since losing her WBC heavyweight title to Claressa Shields in July. Her opponent is also being worked on.
Interestingly, Pascal Villeneuve (4-2-1, 2 KOs) will fight for the first since May 2016. Villeneuve is from Gatineau and works daily at the Lac Leamy Casino.
Also scheduled to appear are middleweight Shamil Khataev (12-0-1, 3 KOs), lightweight Luis Santana (12-0, 6 KOs) and middleweight Moreno Fendero (6-0, 4 KOs) provided he wins and no injuries has some of his fight next Thursday.
The show will air on ESPN+ and also on punchinggrace.com in Canada.
